It's time to connect, collaborate and create content in the great outdoors! We are kicking off our first PNW Day Hike with a trip to Bridal Veil Falls in Index along Highway 2. Maybe you have been inspired by REI's #OptOutside or just love exploring; at any rate, the hike will be the perfect dose of Pacific Northwest while providing plenty of opportunities to take in the landscape and burn a creative sweat.
Lifestyle bloggers looking to snag photos in their latest athleisure gear; Seattle or Adventure bloggers ready to document another hike; Landscape photographers wanting to practice shooting waterfalls; Portrait photographers needing models or bloggers as subjects for their next Instagram fix; Videographers wanting to practice with their GoPros, mono-pods, gimbals or shoulder-rigs (but keep it slim, it's a hike); Podcasters or sound engineers needing a few nature-inspired stings for their next cut; and even Make-up and Hair artists are welcome to connect with bloggers about sporty looks or hairstyles - fish-tale braid, anyone? Or just come to chat and hike with other like-minded peeps!
This hike is a moderate level and leads to a photo-worthy waterfall. The 100-foot fall flows from Lake Serene, which is another couple miles up if anyone wants to extend the hike, and an old mine nearby brought the original nineteenth-century travelers to the area. Bring comfortable clothing, dependable shoes, snacks and water.
If you want to carpool with the group let us know! We are meeting up at this Green Lake parking lot and then heading out together, but feel free to meet us at the trail head if you prefer. If you are carpooling, please bring $5 to contribute to gas. Depending on traffic, it can take an hour+ from Seattle and the trail to the falls is 4-miles roundtrip. Based on the drive and how comfortably we hike, we would budget five hours of your time to be safe.
Saturday, June 17 at 8:00 AM for carpool; 9:00 AM for hike
Cancellation // We will hike in light, misty rain but will send an email cancellation if the weather is major garbage.
